I AM DIABETIC, STARTED ON INSULIN. HAVE EATEN SHRIMP ALL MY LIFE ALL OF A SUDDEN I BROKE OUT IN RASH. ALLERGY?

I WAS WONDERING IF I HAVE DEVELOPED AN ALLERGY TO SHELL FISH AFTER STARTING THE INSULIN SINCE I BROKE OUT AND ITCHED ALL OVER.
that's not likely. coukld be something else going on. taking insulin doesn't not give you allergies.
It might be the preservatives within the insulin. This is why there is a warning in the region of allergies on all medications including insulins.

I do hold one internet friend who is hypothyroid and the doctor had her on insulin for a short while for high glucose level. She is highly allergic to one of the preservatives in the insulin. It is impossible to find insulin in need this preservative.

So you need to get over the hives (??) or doesn`t matter what rash, then try the shrimp again.

It doesn't bother me, but consequently to me shrimp is a very rare treat! I live contained by the desert southwest of the USA>
