Do diabetics produce glucagon?
Do type 1 diabetic's pancreases still produce glucagon?
Answers:
Diabetes does not affect glucagon production. However, less glucagon is needed by the body, and so production of glucagon should be expected to decrease. Glucagon releases sugar into the blood. Insulin, which Type 1 diabetics do not produce, act as a gatekeeper letting sugar from the blood into the body's cells where on earth it is needed. Source(s): Emergency medical technician
