Why is a hamburger an unideal food for a diabetic?

The hamburger is fine for a diabetic to eat, the bun however has too oodles carbohydrates. Also when you add fries with it you can slickly be at 100 grams of carbs for the meal, thats what I eat surrounded by a day. Source(s): diabetes.org
Now this all depends on the way the hamburger is prepared, what it is made of and which kinda diabetes you enjoy.
My daughter has type 1 diabetes, and if she was have a hamburger for tea I would use lean meat and grill the patty, I would use a low GI (glycemic index) roll, with tomato's and lettuce. I afterwards adjust her insulin does after counting the carbohydrates in the meal.
If we be out and had a fast food feast with a hamburger and fries, the fat within the meal will slow the digestion of the the meal objective the carbohydrates may not be released until a few hours later meaning the insulin given at her feast would have run out and she would need a correction dose then (more injections). Someone on an insulin pump may be able to handle it better as the insulin is given over a longer extent.
If it is type 2 diabetes then the person may be trying to control the amount of margarine and sugars in the food and may be trying to lose weight.
Fast food hamburgers aren't and just what the doctor ordered food for anyone due the fat content and low nutritional values. Every thing contained by moderation.
a hamburger ia n unideal food because there are carbs in the bun, sugars & cholesterol within the mayo (that's why most of us have mustard) the natural sugars surrounded by the vegetables, and of course the grease on the burger.
I found this weird too, but discovered that when I did own a burger, even without the bun, my sugar would get big.
We can eat any food on this planet.
A mix of protein and carbs is purely fine.
Check your sugar,dose accordingly and enjoy.
I am trying to settle on what to have for dinner and I may just enjoy a burger.
