1,800 Calorie diet for Diabetic?
I'm a type 2 diabetic, and my doctor has prescribed me a 1800 calorie diet (up to 2000 calories per day). I can have 7 to 8 servings (15 grams) of carbs. Does anyone hold a suggested meal plan or other suggestions for this diet? Thanks!
Answers:
you don't mention your height and cargo - but a low-calorie diet sounds fair no matter what.
Most importantly, I suggest you draw from away from grain-carbohydrates. Those most successful at controlling or reducing their blood sugar have reduced grain carbs to 6 gr for breakfast, 12 gr max respectively for lunch and dinner for a daily max of 30 grams.
In other words: stay to non-starchy vegetables and light proteins and cut your breads, pizza, pasta. Getting rotten the sugar rollercoaster will put an end to your cravings (sugar and other).
