I am a diabetic (type 1), can I still provide blood?
Answers:
If your diabetes is okay controlled, then yes you can.
You might know how to. The American Red Cross webiste says:
"Donors with diabetes who since 1980, ever used bovine (beef) insulin made from cattle from the United Kingdom are not eligible to donate. This requirement is related to concerns roughly variant CJD, or 'mad cow' disease."
You should check with your nearest blood collection center to see if you can provide blood. Source(s): http://www.redcross.org/services/biomed/…

No, because there is either too much glucose or insulin within diabetics' blood and that could affect the recipient of the blood in a denial way.
